Thank you for contributing to our Annual Fund on Giving Tuesday!

Thank you to all those who have given toward PS 198's "Giving Tuesday"! Once again, we know your generosity is pulled in many directions today, but we are grateful to those who have invested in our school community through this effort!

Some great news:

• A generous group of anonymous Bulldogs agreed to MATCH every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $12,000 - raising the match by $1,000 earlier on Tuesday.

• As of Tuesday evening we have raised $15,900 (NOT yet including the generous $12,000 match)!

• If you were unable to contribute on Giving Tuesday, you can still contribute to our PS198M Annual Fund!

Help us reach $50,000 for our annual giving fund to support the programs that make our school exceptional—enrichment opportunities, teacher professional development, recess coaches, classroom supplies, and more. Consider a suggested donation of $850 per student—less than $5 per school day. But truly, participation at any level matters most and is greatly appreciated.

• Drop off cash/check (payable to PS 198M PTA) in the main office

• Don’t forget to check if your employer offers matching gifts

Many companies will match their employees' non-profit charitable donations (such as to the PS 198M PTA) dollar-for-dollar (or more!).

• Some companies will only do this on Giving Tuesday, but it is worth asking your company what is possible. Making your annual contribution could double your impact (beyond the generous Bulldog Match above) - it's basically free money for our kids and the school.

• Unsure if your company matches? Check your company's HR/employee portal, or their website under "social responsibility" or "employee benefits." You can even try simply searching "[company name] matching gifts."

• Here are some companies with (historically) known matching programs:

  • Tech: Microsoft, Google, IBM, Apple, HP, Cisco Systems, Dell, Intel, Salesforce

  • Finance & Law: Bank of America, American Express, State Street Corporation, Chevron, State Farm, Charles Schwab Corporation, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, many "Big Law" firms (including Kirkland & Ellis, Skadden, DavisPolk).

  • Retail: Target, Nordstrom, The Home Depot, Starbucks, Gap Corporation, Best Buy, CVS Health, Estee Lauder

  • Consumer Goods & Services: Coca-Cola, General Mills, Lego, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, CIGNA, UnitedHealth Group

  • Health Care Systems: NYU Langone, New York-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai -- although you may have to go through your direct W2 employer to access this match.

  • Other: ExxonMobil, Caterpillar, Choice Hotels International, Pfizer, Toyota
